Why hello all you amazing readers!
Welcome to my September favourites. September means the beginning of Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere, which in turn means warmer weather and lots of rain. We started the month with torrential downpours but now the sun is here to stay. I’ve been saying ‘See you soon’ to my Winter coats and welcoming back my Spring/Summer wardrobe, even changing up my skin routine a bit.
My first favourite has to be Solar Defense Booster by Dermalogica, with an SPF of 50 and broad spectrum protection. The sun has been out in full force lately so I just add a bit to my day cream in the mornings to protect my skin throughout the day! I love its formula which doesn’t leave your skin with that sticky feeling most sunscreen lotions do.
My second favourite is something I heard off thanks to Zoe Sugg, on her Youtube channel, Zoella. She swears by the Roller Lash mascara by Benefit cosmetics and when I heard Benefit was back in South Africa I had to purchase it! I have rather short and straight lashes, and Roller Lash really does curl them up and make them look so much longer which pretty much opens my eyes up. The applicator brush is curved which makes it super easy to apply and even get those bottom lashes looking good!
Next I have been loving shades of pink for my lips for Spring. My favourite is Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish Colour Rush, in the shade 220 Rumour Has It. It’s described as an intense long lasting colour balm. I love this colour as most pinks don’t really suit my skin tone but this adds a pop and it is super moisturising and long lasting to wear and keep,
The last thing in terms of skincare and beauty are these facial cleansing wipes from Dis-Chem. They are super cheap and soft and they are so good for taking off my make up or just cleansing my face. I’ve also been trying Nature’s Nourishment face masks, also really cheap but so soothing for my skin, my favourite is the green tea extract which is a deep cleansing face mask. Unfortunately I threw the pack away before I took a picture.
To me Spring is the rebirth of my headband phase. I love flowery hair accessories or just headbands to keep my hair out of my face in this heat. It’s the most fashionable way I know how. These are a few of my favourites.
Lastly my favourite thing about September is that it is acceptable to go out in public wearing shorts again. Here’s a little OOTD of my favourite pair of blue shorts…
Blazer: Cotton On
Shorts: Cotton On
Shoes: Cotton On
Bag: Mr Price
