Hey everybody! (*waits for applause like Sophie from 2 broke girls* not getting one? oh ok cool] I’ve been binge watching the new season so forgive that crazy inner rant. What even? We’re already on the 9th blog in The Jo’burg Diaries Series. There’s probably not even 9 people who’ve read all the posts but one day soon that will change!
Last May I posted Local is Lekker , Vee and I had been looking for one thing but our lack of sense of direction led us elsewhere and to cool places. About a week ago, we decided to aimlessly walk in Braam and see what else we found. Once again it did not disappoint, we visited a place we knew or two but also, ventured into buildings we usually don’t. We even found a spot that held a piece of home for us!
Before we did any exploring, we needed food! Turns out I walk pass Daleahs Eatery all the time without realising it! We decided to stop there to fuel up and iced coffees were ordered as the per the tradition in Braam!
To eat, one can never go wrong with bacon, flapjacks and syrup. Turns out adding berries does the trick too!
Dahleahs is absolutely lovely to eat in, the atmosphere is light and the interior is so thoughtful. You can click through the slideshow to see the place a bit…
After chowing down we relaxed and caught up on each other’s life, campus has been really hectic! Then we were on our way, we decided to shop around in 70 Juta Street and came across Parooz Fashions, the coolest clothing store! All the pictures below are from the store, the person manning the floor was an absolute sweetheart!
I got myself a graphic tee that was on sale, the material is soo soft! It’s the most comfortable white tee I currently own .
And we had to check back in with Aware Records! Some old soul vibes.
We walked past these doors and were curious to see what’s inside, we found a furniture showroom, I want to one day buy a couch from them or a table! Their stuff is pretty innovative, we walked up the stairs, past a media company, all the way to the top, and found The Beach! As KZN girls, where the beach is at max. an hour away, a rooftop filled with sand excited us wayy too much! As soon as one of their events allows under 21’s I’m so there!
Afterwards we just strolled around and walked through the alley near the Neighbourgoods venue, it’s a lot less appealing by day, but we caught a few good snaps…
We headed back to campus after that as Vee had a class but it was such a fun day, I was meant to get home and get some work done but my friends called me up to watch Deadpool, and I had been dying to! The movie was awesome, amazing, epic and I love how snarky and sassy he is!
Well that’s all for now, hope everyone is coping with block tests!
