So Thanksgiving may be a national holiday in the States, but to me and my church, it’s our annual day to stop and give thanks to God for all he’s done. It is the biggest and most important day at church. Every year, on the 16th of December (which is actually a public holiday in South Africa, The Day of Reconciliation), we don on our best and take time to be grateful for the good and appreciate the bad and the lessons we’ve learnt from it. It is generally a fancier affair, but this year the dress code was smart casual, a good deviation from the norm, the food was amazing and the atmosphere and feeling of family was comforting.
With some room to play with the the lighter dress code I had no idea what to wear, but when my cousin picked up this stunning piece off the rail to show me, I knew it was perfect!
I’ve never been a jumpsuit person because I figured it unflattering, but hold up! Culottes are the way to wear a jumpsuit. It’s casual and classy at the same time. And it’s so versatile to dress up or down. I obviously dressed it up a bit and here’s my take!
Crop: Mr Price
Heels: Cotton On
Clutch: Colette Hayman
I kept my makeup and jewellery light and pretty neutral, opting for a pink lipstick and just filling my brows in, and some mascara. Also! My Colourpop shipment arrived (EEEEK!!!!) so for my cheeks I put some lollitint and a rose gold highlighter! Here’s a little closeup for you guys to see…
Well that’s all for now folks! Hope everyone is having a great festive season and Christmas is bringing you joy, peace and light!
