my skincare routine

Hey guys! We’re in Feb! (urm yikes)

So I have moved back into res, I am officially a third year metallurgical engineering student!! And I turn 21 this year. So I’m getting older 😦 and my stress levels are about to increase exponentially. I’ve started to prioritise my skincare regime a lot more this past year, especially for my face. I have super sensitive skin and perpetually dark circles around my eyes, even when I catch up on sleep.

I’m still on the lookout for a great eye cream for my bags, but until then I’ll be concealing, concealing and you guessed it, concealing!

So here are my tried and test and most loved face products…

My Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is definitely my favourite for my makeup removal. And it’s a cleanser so I do sometimes just use it swipe of any accumulation of dirt and bacteria.

Face washes have almost always disagreed to my skin or done absolutely nothing for my it. And then I walked into a Kiehl’s store. Their Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser is amazing. The formula is perfect for oily skin, without drying it out and it has drastically decreased my breakouts.

For my daily morning routine, after washing and cleansing my face, I mix in a tiny dollop of my Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster with my Ponds Flawless Radiance day cream. After that has set in I use the Yardley Colour Correcting primer to smooth out my pores and its pink tone helps conceal some of my dark spots and evens my complexion out a bit.

Before and after my foundation, I spritz on some MAC Fix+ which just acts as further primer for my makeup and sets it all in place after. I do sometimes use it when no makeup is involved, it’s so refreshing to my skin!

And before bed or after my evening shower, I slather on some Palmers’ Cocoa Butter, I was initially so skeptical about this after reading its reviews, but it was ~R10 when I started using it so I thought why not, my skin was drying out and I was willing to try anything. Despite many bad reviews, this product moisturises my skin so well, a little goes a long way of course! My skin feels beautifully smooth and supple when I wake up.

Those were a few of my favourite things! I do hope you guys enjoyed finding out what I use, I know I love hearing about what works for other people! So don’t forget to like, share, comment and subscribe!

Love you guys!
