“Your insecurities can influence your boundaries” -Cassey Ho
Hey guys! So there is a chance I paraphrased that, but how true is it! Sometimes you aren’t pushing as hard in your workout or you’re scared to answer that question in class, because.. what if you’re wrong? Or sometimes it’s simply you finding an amazing dress and then deciding you wont be able to pull it off. It could be too short, too long, too tight, too flowy, too bright or too dull. The list of excuses we can come up with are endless.
When Dia&Co (a plus size stylist company) approached me to participate in Try-Friday, I didn’t have to think twice about saying yes. I’m all about body positivity, even on days when I look in the mirror and think ‘wow, only a mum could love this’ but my mum is kinda savage so even then I’m not sure… But I digress, Try-Friday is about stepping out of the box you’ve made for yourself and trying something new.
Have you been stashing an outfit away in your closet that you’re not confident enough to wear. Today’s the day, try it out, keep it on and walk out that door!
For my little OOTD I decided to pull out a skirt I’ve worn a total of 2 times, it did feature in my birthday post last year, but I didn’t have the confidence to wear it again, I felt it way too short. Another item I shy away from is a crop top, I own a few because I looove wearing them under strappy dresses and playsuits. This isn’t the most cropped crop top but it threw me off balance a bit at first to wear a tee shorter than I’m usually used to.
Cropped Tee: Factorie
Choker & Watch: Lovisa
Look at me pretending to juju on that beat (I cannot, in fact, juju on that beat). Shooting in the little walkover between two buildings at campus was so fun! But also nerve wrecking! There were so many people below who could see, and I am not used to posing in public. But hey… it is Try-Friday!
I hope you guys don’t let any self-doubt stop you from being the best possible version of you, that you can be! Today and everyday. OK I will stop being a blogging fortune cookie now!
P.S. Update on the lush haul, my skin has never felt more amazing! And my face is loving the Angels on Bare Skin scrub!!! I have actually noticed a difference!
Don’t mind my messy brows, I had an 8am lecture 😦
love and light…
