Hello beautiful bloggerverse!
So, I’ve got a round face, chiselling out some cheekbones is hard work on this canvas. I’ve also got dark skin and finding a dark enough contour shade has always been a struggle for me. I eventually gave up on carving out facial features. I then proceeded to use blush to add some definition to my face. The shade I loved most was a light purple liquid blush from Benefit, Lollitint. I consequently finished my bottle and moved on to rosier shades for my blush.
Last weekend, however, I went to my local drugstore, Dischem, and checked out the Essence range. My current blush is a little powder pot by the brand and these cheeks felt like they needed more options. I found the loveliest singles!!
I picked up a kind of coral blush (10 peach me up!), because everyone needs that and then 2 new favourites!!! I haven’t been using them for their intended purposes but that’s the beauty of makeup. It’s versatile like that. The first thing that really caught my eye was a pink shimmer blush that spoke to me as a highlighter, I guess they are kind of the same thing. It’s in the shade, 01 rhythm of the night. It’s such a beautiful highlight.
I SAW IT.
This rich, deep purple/ Violet shade. I picked it up and turns out it was a lip powder called 01 crush on you! My love for purple blush returned and I knew I had to buy it! It’s such a deep shade that it adds sooo much definition to my face. So basically, I use a purple contour. I feel like Kat Von D would be so proud! For a second I thought it would be too much but then I figured hey I love how it looks so why the heck not?
I’m in love with how it changed my face shape up, and all the compliments on my makeup definitely boosted my ego! I even tried it as an eyeshadow and it looked bomb!
I hope I inspired you guys to repurpose some makeup and be a bit more adventurous in your look! If you have any tips or stories, let me know in the comments below. Don’t forget to like, share and subscribe to see more of my posts!
Love you all! Cayla
