On a serious note? Is OOTD even still something that people say?
Happy new year loves! Okay, so we may already be halfway through the first month of the year, but the year is only 4.1096% complete so a new year post is justified. I just want to take a second (more like a paragraph) to talk about new year resolutions.
People often say new year new me and get made fun off. Why are humans like this? I personally believe that a new year is a really good starting point for a new year (duh!) and a better you! This is probably the first year I’ve made a resolution, well a serious one anyway. I clearly remember the last day of 2009, I was getting ready for church and nicked myself so badly while shaving my legs. That year I vowed to never cut my legs whilst shaving. I mean I got cut last week so I should probably start looking into waxing?
Anyway, I’ve resolved to take better care of myself this year, mentally and physically. I’ve started by trying Cassey’s 28 day reset, not gonna lie, I caved and had chocolate this weekend, period cravings y’all! But I’m not going to let that deter me, I’m back on it. Making the recipes from the new Blogilates Perfect 10 cookbook has been so fun! I think with making resolutions it’s important to set time specific goals and to make the journey as enjoyable as possible.
Anyway back to the fashion part of this post, Pietermaritzburg has had an intense heat wave these past few days, I was at a loss for what to wear to church. I opened my closet and as usual, it felt like I had nothing to wear! I came across my very first Cotton On purchase, I’ve grown to call it my picnic skirt, you’ll see why. I quickly paired it with a plain black tee and threw on a necklace to dress it up a bit. Here’s the look below
Tee: Mr Price
Skirt: Cotton On
Heels: Edgars, Kelso
Bag: Fordsburg Market
All jewellery: Lovisa
I actually wanted to pair it with nude strappy block heels, but in my rush in the morning I couldn’t find them, I still haven’t found them… But the black heels worked pretty well too!
That’s all for now, I did a REALLLLY cool shoot after this mini one, so sign up to my email list to know when that comes out.
